Panama's president is scheduled to travel to Japan in 2016 to finalize negotiations for financing the construction of the Line 3 of the Metro.

On Saturday Deputy Foreign Minister Luis Miguel Hincapie traveled to the Japan to sign a "memorandum of cooperation with Japan," in which are detailed the specifications for the construction of the subway line, which will serve as the framework for the agreement.

According to preliminary studies, the Metro line 3 will use a monorail system and run from the Albrook Terminal in the city to Arraijan in Panama Oeste, stretching for nearly 27 kilometers, and have at least 14 stations.

Foreign Ministry reported that this meeting will offer other business opportunities. "Taking advantage of this visit, Deputy Foreign Minister in Japan will promote business opportunities offered by Panama as a logistics platform, connectivity and socio-political stability, to encourage the Japanese investors to expand their business in Panama".
