Japan will provide financing of over $2 billion for Line 3 of the Panama Metro

The monorail system will be the first with Japanese technology in the American continent, and the largest infrastructure project since the Panama Canal Expansion. The project also includes Japan’s technical cooperation for selecting the Project Manager. The first phase of Line 3 will have a length of about 26.75 kilometers with 14 passenger stations which begins with a connection to Line 1 of the Metro in Albrook and extends west across of the 4th bridge over the Panama Canal and provide connectivity to the Panama Pacific Special Economic Area and beyond to the center of Arraiján.
